Group Makeup

All groups are open and inclusive but acceptance is not automatic. Why? We strive to ensure that each luxury small group trip is cohesive. Ensuring a cohesive group dynamic is essential for a successful trip, so based on the destination and specifics of the trip, we may ask a few personality and mobility questions but don’t worry, we have a trip for everyone, we have a trip for you.

 

Group Size: Our luxury small groups are small by design and averages just 16 guests but never more than 20. Opting for a smaller group size allows for a more intimate and personalized experience during our journeys. With fewer participants, we can better navigate destinations, enjoy closer interactions with locals, and ensure everyone’s preferences and needs are accommodated more effectively. This intimate setting fosters stronger connections among group members, enhancing the overall quality and luxury feel of our group travel experience.

Age Range: You are as young as you feel strongly applies to our small luxury groups, especially for our river and ocean groups. If you desire to travel on our land based small luxury groups, then ideally you will be between the ages of 30 & 60 years old but again, we welcome everyone as long as it will be a great fit. 

Mobility: It is no fun if you get hurt trying to do more than your body allows. To  fully explore our destinations, it’s essential that participants are able to easily navigate uneven terrains and steps, as well as be physical able to participate in all our activities. Having reasonable mobility ensures everyone can fully engage in the experience and make the most of our adventure together.

Flights & Transportation

Flights are generally not included. Why? We all travel differently, so while some people are perfectly fine splurging on business class, others prefer to splurge elsewhere.  That being said, most of our trips are long-haul destinations, think 12 -19 hours in flight time so I typically recommend Premium Economy as a minimum for a nice balance between comfort and price.

But nothing beats a lay-flat biz class seat for arriving to your trip well rested and happy.

Not to worry, we will book your flights so that you arrive on schedule and ready to vacay. 

Vehicles: In destination, we partner with local suppliers that utilize late model vehicles for all our airport transfers and tours. 

Health & Safety

This is paramount! All our tour guides and drivers are fully vetted. 

We do not offer or encourage tours and activities that are not covered by insurance or that do not meet our safety standards. 

Arguably the best part of traveling to these exotic destinations is sampling local and authentic foods – we have suggestions for local foods and restaurants to try when advisable. 

Insurance

It is mandatory to have travel insurance to participate in our group travels and we recommend purchasing by final payment or at time of initial payment if there any pre-existing medical conditions to cover.

We primarily work with 2 travel insurance companies that have great prices, insurance options and most importantly, great support if you actually need to file a claim. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Most trips have a $500 fully non-refundable deposit. That’s it. You pay your deposit and you purchase your travel insurance in case of eventualities. 
In every case, the deposit secures your spot on the trip and subsequent payments can be made up to or on final payment date.

We recognize that things happen and plans sometimes need to be altered; however, due to the contractual agreements (and resulting great prices) that we have in place with our suppliers, cancellations must be in writing and will follow the suppliers cancellation schedule. 
The cancellation policy will be listed with each group trip.

At this time we do not offer roommate matching.

Passports: You must possess a passport that is valid beyond 6 months of the return date of our trip in order to participate in our luxury small group trips. In addition, there must be at least 2 unstamped visa pages in your passport.

Visas: We will advise you on whether a visa is required for our luxury small group trip.  If a visa is required, we will provide the information for you to obtain your visa. Of course, if you do not wish to take care of it on your own, we will assist for a nominal fee.

 

Some countries on our itinerary may require specific vaccinations for entry. Please make sure to obtain any and all stated, necessary vaccinations independently before the trip.

Every one of our luxury small group trips are different but rest assured that certain things are always the same:

  • Breakfast is always included
  • On full day tours, lunch is always included
  • Our luxury small group trips are always escorted
  • The hotels are always centrally located luxury hotels
  • The guides are always knowledgeable, professional and friendly
  • The experience is always an amazingly memorable trip

Here at Curated World Travels, we firmly believe that good service deserves reward. For us, it does not matter what the tipping policy is for the destination (well unless it is quite rude to offer a gratuity), we provide a tipping guide for each destination. While not mandatory, we do hope that everyone that travels with us recognizes the joy of nurturing the local economy.

Each destination comes with cultural and climatic requirements. We prepare a packing list as well as dress code requirements for every luxury small group trip.
In the case of cruise groups, we will let you know of any formal night or thematic nights to prepare for months in advance.
